by Carter Dec 06,2025

  • Persona 5: The Phantom X is coming to mobile devices worldwide.
  • This marks its global debut, finally moving beyond its initial exclusive release in Eastern markets.
  • Experience a completely original story while enjoying the same acclaimed gameplay from Persona 5.

Not too long ago—actually, back in 2023—we first caught wind of a new mobile spin-off from the popular Persona series. Now, nearly two years later, Persona 5: The Phantom X is arriving worldwide on both mobile and PC, and it's launching as soon as next month!

Mark your calendars: Persona 5: The Phantom X arrives on June 26th, giving fans the chance to finally dive in. You'll step into the shoes of a fresh protagonist leading a new crew of Phantom Thieves, similar to the original game, and explore modern-day Tokyo in this mobile version of the beloved RPG.

If you're new to the series, Persona games balance two sides of life: the daily routines of students—attending class, building friendships, joining clubs—and the thrilling nighttime adventures of the Phantom Thieves, who fight with the aid of supernatural entities called Personas.

Persona 5: The Phantom X has captured the interest of the Persona community. It isn't just a simple spin-off—it stands as a fully-fledged sequel in its own right. And while it builds on the original's ideas, nearly everything is new aside from the core concepts of the Phantom Thieves and Personas.

The game also introduces new Palaces, Mementos, and a guild system, along with the Velvet Trials PvE mode. And yes, we've heard you'll also encounter a few familiar characters from Persona 5 along the way.

Luckily, there's still time before June arrives, so you can explore other great mobile RPGs in the meantime. Looking for recommendations? Check out our list of the 25 best RPGs available on iOS and Android right now.
