Pikmin Bloom to Celebrate Day of the Dead Next Month

Pikmin Bloom is preparing for a vibrant celebration this October with a special in-game event: Day of the Dead. Drawing inspiration from the Mexican holiday Día de Muertos, it infuses the game with its colorful traditions.

Día de Muertos, observed on November 1st and 2nd, is a time when families honor departed loved ones with ofrendas (altars), flowers, photographs, favorite foods, parades, music, and iconic calavera (skull) artwork.

Pikmin Bloom is kicking off the festivities early, with the event running from October 1st through October 31st, 2025. Here's a complete breakdown of everything you can expect during the celebration.

New Pikmin, of course!

The event debuts the Calavera Decor Pikmin. You can acquire them by finishing special Event Challenges. Completing these missions also grants random rewards, including Flickering Candles. These are special seedlings that can grow into Calavera Decor Pikmin, yield flower petals, or provide other bonuses.

Each time the central Big Flower on the event stage blooms, you are guaranteed a Gold Seedling alongside the random loot. Any seedlings obtained this way can mature into one of seven unique Calavera Decor Pikmin varieties.

As with most Pikmin Bloom events, mushroom battles are a key feature of the Day of the Dead festivities. You'll encounter Colorful Mushrooms, which drop Mystery Boxes containing items like Flickering Candles.

Calavera Decor Pikmin are particularly effective in these mushroom battles, making them your best choice to send into combat. During weekends, giant Colorful Mushrooms will appear. These offer rarer Mystery Boxes and permit the use of the Mushroom Battle Bullhorn up to three times daily.
