Pokemon TCG Pocket Pack Hourglasses: Confirmed for Future Expansions

Recent speculation suggested that the upcoming Pokemon TCG Pocket expansion would render Pack Hourglasses obsolete. However, The Pokemon Company has officially confirmed that this is untrue. Pack Hourglasses will continue to function as intended in future expansions, reducing booster pack opening delays by one hour per hourglass, regardless of the expansion's content.

This confirmation follows the October 2024 release of Pokemon TCG Pocket and the subsequent addition of the Mythical Island booster pack. With another expansion anticipated in January 2025, concerns arose regarding the utility of accumulated hourglasses. These concerns are now alleviated by The Pokemon Company's statement.

Players can continue accumulating Pack Hourglasses. These can be obtained by completing daily challenges and claiming the daily Complimentary Item Set from the shop. While alternative in-game currencies exist (Wonder Hourglasses, various Tickets, Poke Gold, Pack Points, etc.), the current system of using Pack Hourglasses to reduce the 12-hour Pack Stamina waiting period remains unchanged. This allows players to open a maximum of two booster packs daily.

The persistence of Pack Hourglasses ensures continued value for players' existing stockpiles and reinforces the ongoing development and expansion of Pokemon TCG Pocket. The game's success will likely lead to further expansions, making the continued use of Pack Hourglasses a significant factor in the gameplay experience.
