When Silksong briefly appeared during Nintendo's April 2 Switch 2 Direct, many players feared it might bypass the current console generation entirely. Originally announced in 2019 for PC and Switch, Team Cherry later expanded the game's availability to PlayStation and Xbox systems.

Matthew Griffin, Team Cherry's Marketing and PR representative, addressed these concerns via Twitter on April 8. He clarified that Silksong will launch simultaneously for both Switch and Switch 2 platforms.

While specific differences between versions remain unclear, players can anticipate enhanced resolution and performance when playing on Switch 2's upgraded hardware.
