Andor Actor Pushes for Battlefront 3 as Sequel Gains Fans

Demand for a new Star Wars Battlefront game has gained momentum after receiving endorsement from an actor in the widely praised series Andor.

Throughout the past month, players have been returning to 2017's Star Wars Battlefront 2 in droves – achieving the game's highest Steam player count in years, despite developer DICE ending support long ago.

Andor star Muhannad Ben Amor, who portrays the heroic Wilmon Paak, recently joined the movement for a new sequel through social media.

"Star Wars needs to deliver Battlefront 3 immediately," Amor posted on Instagram (via Comicbook), sharing his impressive 469-hour playtime in Battlefront 2. "That's dedication, but keep your expectations realistic."

"I grew up with Battlefront 2 – I've been a fan since day one," Amor added. "Here's hoping Battlefront 3 becomes reality."

The recent surge in Battlefront 2's popularity coincides with the conclusion of Andor's dramatic second season and the franchise's annual May 4th celebrations. After maintaining an average of about 2,000 concurrent Steam players for years, the game is now approaching its all-time peak of 10,000 simultaneous players.

Does this renewed interest increase chances for Battlefront 3? Currently, DICE is focused on developing its next major Battlefield title. The company plans to officially reveal this currently untitled project – already in player testing – later this summer.

DICE might remain hesitant about reviving the franchise after Battlefront 2's controversial loot box launch. However, public opinion has softened over time. While EA no longer has exclusive Star Wars game rights, Respawn Entertainment continues developing Star Wars projects, including a third Jedi title.

"Star Wars Battlefront 2 tells a redemption story worthy of the Skywalker legacy," noted IGN in its 2019 reassessment. "The game now stands as one of the most immersive Star Wars gaming experiences available."
