Stellar Blade PC Release Could Be Coming Soon

Shift Up CFO Ahn Jae-woo addressed the company’s June 25 IPO press conference, noting that they are "currently exploring a PC version of Stellar Blade, which we believe would be an excellent way to further monetize the IP," as reported by GameMeca and translated by Game8. Ahn also observed that this consideration accounts for current PS5 distribution and the shifting AAA gaming market from consoles to PCs.

Furthermore, Shift Up’s CEO Kim Hyung-Tae confirmed that the company is "currently evaluating a Stellar Blade PC version, but cannot specify a tentative release date due to contractual obligations." This aligns with the company’s public filing indicating consideration of a PC release and sequel for this highly successful IP.

Kim also explained that Stellar Blade aimed to "create a high-value IP to cultivate global recognition and a dedicated fanbase." To that end, Kim stated that they eschewed features like microtransactions that could potentially damage the brand, intending to demonstrate this transparently to fans.

Future Updates and Collaborations Are Imminent!

It doesn’t stop there, however, as Stellar Blade’s update and DLC plan have been unveiled. The game is slated to receive multiple updates this year, including the highly anticipated Photo Mode in August, new outfits by October, and a major collaboration to be announced later this year.

Regarding the recent collaboration with GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE, Kim stated that they are "reviewing various opportunities to create positive synergy between each IP, and I think we will be able to show you good results soon."

Sold Approximately One Million Copies Worldwide!

It’s no secret that Stellar Blade has been one of the year's biggest surprises, and it shows, as Shift Up estimates they sold approximately one million copies globally within two months of launch. Not only that, but the game also topped major PS5 exclusive markets, including the US and UK, in sixty different stores since its late April release.
