NetEase Games has announced a ban on keyboard and mouse adapters in Marvel Rivals on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. The use of adapters like XIM, Cronus Zen, Titan Two, KeyMander, and Brook Sniper, which simulate gamepad input from a keyboard and mouse, is considered a violation of the game's terms of service. This is due to the unfair advantage provided by increased control precision and aiming assistance retention.
NetEase's statement clarifies that these devices create an uneven playing field, particularly in competitive modes. The company has implemented detection tools to identify adapter usage with high accuracy, resulting in account suspensions for violators.
Separately, the game has also been experiencing an issue where higher FPS correlates with increased ping. While this might be less noticeable with already high ping, a jump from, say, 90ms to 150ms can significantly impact gameplay. Until a patch addresses this, players are advised to experiment with their FPS settings, with some suggesting maintaining around 90 FPS as a temporary solution. This is in contrast to the high FPS preferences common in games like Counter-Strike 2.
