id Software's goal for DOOM: The Dark Ages is broad accessibility. Executive producer Marty Stratton emphasized a commitment to surpassing the customization options found in previous id Software titles, ensuring a wider player base can enjoy the game.
Players will have extensive control over gameplay, adjusting enemy difficulty and damage, projectile speed, player damage taken, and even broader elements like game tempo, aggression levels, and parry timings.
Stratton confirmed that DOOM: The Dark Ages and DOOM: Eternal's narratives are independently understandable, eliminating the need to play one to comprehend the other.

Announced at the Xbox Developer_Direct, DOOM returns with the Slayer venturing into the dark ages. Launching May 15th, DOOM: The Dark Ages leverages the powerful idTech8 engine, promising exceptional performance and visuals.
The developers utilized ray tracing to enhance the game's brutality and destruction, adding realistic shadows and dynamic lighting. Minimum, recommended, and ultra settings have been pre-released to allow players to prepare for optimal gameplay.
