"Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Hits 2M Sales, Lifts Embracer"

by Isabella Dec 02,2025

Embracer celebrates the remarkable success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, announcing it has surpassed 1.9 million copies sold.

The medieval RPG sequel sold one million units within its first 24 hours, nearly doubling that figure within ten days of launch.

This represents an extraordinary achievement for Warhorse Studios' historically grounded action RPG, which debuted on February 4 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The game particularly excelled on Steam, reaching over 250,000 concurrent players at its peak—surpassing the original's 96,069 concurrent record set seven years prior.

Notably, the actual concurrent player peak would be higher considering console sales, though platform holders Sony and Microsoft don't disclose such metrics.

Through subsidiary Plaion, Embracer confirmed the sequel's strong critical, commercial, and player reception.

"These results demonstrate Warhorse Studios' commitment and Deep Silver's publishing excellence," stated Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors.

"We're confident the game will maintain strong sales momentum thanks to its exceptional depth and authenticity. Warhorse has planned substantial post-launch support with updates and expansions throughout the coming year."

"The team has exceeded all projections with this launch," Wingefors added.

Embracer anticipates releasing Killing Floor 3 later this quarter (Q1 2025) alongside its RPG phenomenon.

The conglomerate currently employs over 5,000 developers working on ten AAA titles scheduled across fiscal years 2025-2028—eight developed internally and two through partnerships.

Its FY2025/26 slate includes two major year-end releases alongside mid-tier projects like Gothic 1 Remake, Titan Quest II, and console editions of Satisfactory and Wreckfest 2.

Following recent restructuring—including studio divestments like Gearbox and Saber Interactive—Embracer retains key assets including Metro developer 4A Games, currently crafting a new series installment.
