Season 1 of Marvel Rivals kicked off with Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman, but fans eagerly awaited the arrival of The Thing and Human Torch. The wait is finally over! Here's the release date for The Thing and a breakdown of his abilities.

The Thing's Marvel Rivals Debut:

The first half of Marvel Rivals' Season 1 concludes, making way for the second half launching February 21st. This update includes rank adjustments and, most importantly, the remaining members of the Fantastic Four! The Thing and Human Torch join the battle on February 21st.

The Thing's Abilities:

The Thing is a Vanguard—a tank—in Marvel Rivals, specializing in close-quarters combat. Expect plenty of punches and devastating smashes. While sharing similarities with the Hulk, The Thing possesses a unique ability set. Based on leaks, his abilities include:

• Furious Charge: A dash attack that throws enemies airborne, leaving a stunning seismic zone.
• Battlefield Support: A quick jump to assist a teammate, granting both damage reduction.
• Slam Moment (Ultimate): An ultimate ability that launches all nearby enemies, creating kill opportunities for the team.
• Solid as a Rock (Passive): Immunity to knockback and crowd control (CC) effects.
• Team-Up Ability: Like the Hulk, The Thing can launch Wolverine as a projectile attack. His primary attack is a rapid-fire, low-damage punch combo, while his secondary attack is a powerful charged punch.

The Thing appears to be a frontline tank, absorbing damage for his team. While not a "dive tank" like some others, he may prove a strong alternative to tanks such as Doctor Strange or Magneto. His effectiveness will be fully revealed upon his release.

Team Compositions:
