by Owen Feb 21,2025

Marvel Studios unveils the first trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, promising a blockbuster superhero experience for 2025. The preview showcases Mr. Fantastic, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and The Thing, alongside the formidable villain, Galactus.

The trailer opens with a dinner scene at the Baxter Building, highlighting the film's stylish 1960s retro-futuristic aesthetic and hinting at an upcoming New York showdown. We witness Ben Grimm's transformation into The Thing, and both he and H.E.R.B.I.E. (the Humanoid Experimental Robot B-Type Integrated Electronics) demonstrate their culinary skills.

Elsewhere, Sue Storm briefly displays her powers as Invisible Woman, and Johnny Storm soars as the Human Torch. While Reed Richards' elastic abilities are not prominently featured, the trailer offers a glimpse of John Malkovich, rumored to portray Ivan Kragoff, aka the Red Ghost.

The trailer's launch event at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, saw stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach interacting with enthusiastic fans.

Scheduled for release on July 25, 2025, the film also stars Ralph Ineson as Galactus and Julia Garner as Silver Surfer, alongside Paul Walter Hauser, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles. Matt Shakman directs, and Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige produces.

Set in a vibrant, 1960s-inspired retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel's First Family – Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn), and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) – as they confront their most formidable challenge yet. Balancing their heroic duties with their familial bonds, they must defend Earth against the voracious space god Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus' plan to consume the planet wasn't enough, it takes a deeply personal turn.

Speculation abounds regarding Robert Downey Jr.'s potential return as Doctor Doom, either in a significant role or a post-credits cameo. Feige has confirmed the Fantastic Four's appearances in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
