Unlocking the True Shu Ending in Dynasty Warriors: Origins

Dynasty Warriors: Origins offers three distinct campaigns, each boasting a hidden true ending. This guide details how to unlock the true ending for Liu Bei's Shu faction.

First, complete the main Shu campaign. This unlocks replayability of past stages. You'll notice a gold banner next to "The Battle of Changban," signifying an alternate path. Normally, you help Liu Bei escape while Zhang Fei defends Changban Bridge. However, for the true ending, you must defeat Cao Cao instead of facilitating the escape.

This is challenging. You'll essentially be facing Cao Cao's army alone, embodying the series' famed "1 vs. 1000" battles. Liu Bei's defeat before Cao Cao's means restarting the stage. To improve your odds:

Reduce Difficulty: Switch to "Historian" mode. The sheer number of enemies makes this significantly easier on a lower difficulty.
Strategic Partner: Choose Zhang Fei. Starting closer to Cao Cao's forces reduces travel time.

Prepare your Musou Rage before engaging Cao Cao's army. You'll face two Grand Tactics: eliminating two officers and defeating 250 soldiers. A weapon like twin pikes is highly recommended for the soldier wave. After defeating Cao Cao's army, the true Shu ending awaits after a few more missions.
