Spider-Man's Temporal Paradox

The series deviates significantly from the traditional Spider-Man origin story. Peter's transformation isn't the result of a radioactive spider bite during a lab demonstration. Instead, he's caught in a conflict between Doctor Strange (Robin Atkin Downes) and a Venom-like creature, receiving his powers from a spider shed by the monster.

The season finale reveals a more intricate scenario. Colman Domingo's Norman Osborn, utilizing Peter's research alongside Amadeus Cho (Aleks Le), Jeanne Foucalt (Anjali Kunapaneni), and Asha (Erica Luttrell), creates a device capable of interdimensional travel. This device inadvertently unleashes the same monster from the premiere.

Doctor Strange's intervention leads to a time paradox: the battle throws Strange and the monster back to the day Midtown High was destroyed and Peter gained his powers.
