Alan Wake 2 developers want to become “Europe's Naughty Dog”

Remedy Entertainment's ambition: To be Europe's Naughty Dog. Inspired by Naughty Dog's cinematic storytelling, particularly the Uncharted series, Remedy Entertainment, led by Alan Wake 2 director Kyle Rowley, aims to establish itself as a leading European game developer, mirroring the success of its American counterpart.

Rowley, in a Behind The Voice podcast interview, highlighted this influence on both Quantum Break and Alan Wake 2. The cinematic approach is evident in Alan Wake 2's stunning visuals and gripping narrative, solidifying Remedy's position in the European gaming landscape.

Naughty Dog's legacy, built on single-player cinematic experiences like Uncharted and the critically acclaimed The Last of Us (a PlayStation cornerstone and one of history's most awarded franchises), serves as a benchmark for Remedy's aspirations. Their ambitions extend beyond the horror genre, aiming for the same level of narrative excellence and technical polish.

Alan Wake 2, even over a year post-launch, continues to receive updates. Recent improvements include enhancements across all platforms, most notably a new "Balanced" graphics option for the PS5 Pro, cleverly combining the strengths of its Performance and Quality modes. These updates also address minor graphical adjustments for smoother framerates and clearer visuals, along with bug fixes impacting gameplay, particularly within the Lake House expansion.
