Duck Bucket Added to REPO in First Update

REPO Developers Preview Future Updates Including "Duck Bucket" Feature

REPO's developers have unveiled upcoming changes for the cooperative horror game, most notably a "duck bucket" to prevent the notorious duck from attacking players. Here's what to expect in future updates - including insights from Lethal Company's creator.

Duck Bucket To Contain The Threat

The game's first major update introduces a new containment method against the yellow duck menace. Semiwork Studios outlined these changes in a March 15 YouTube announcement.

This 6-player cooperative horror game tasks teams with careful item extraction in terrifying environments. The infamous Apex Predator - appearing as a harmless yellow duck - transforms into a deadly monster when disturbed, attacking players for 10 seconds before reverting.

The upcoming "duck bucket" will let players trap the persistent fowl, preventing both accidental activations and relentless pursuit. The update will also feature enhanced character expressions and various quality-of-life improvements.

Expanding The Experience: New Map and Lobbies

Semiwork Studios revealed plans for "The Museum", a new environment designed to test players' mobility skills. This location will feature clearer visual indicators for extraction boundaries, helping teams identify valid loot zones.

Public lobby functionality is also in development, though the team acknowledges technical challenges. "While player feedback strongly supports public matchmaking with host controls, implementing kick functionality requires significant backend work," explained the developers.

Due to these technical complexities, this feature may arrive later than initially anticipated.

Lethal Company Creator's Constructive Feedback

Since its February launch, REPO has drawn comparisons to Lethal Company for its similar cooperative horror mechanics. On March 15, Zeekerss - creator of Lethal Company - shared his balanced perspective on Twitter/X.

"REPO shows promise," he commented. "The teamwork required to maneuver large objects through tight spaces creates hilarious moments. However, voice chat range feels too limited, and expansive environments don't suit the game's design as well as confined spaces do."

Addressing stealth mechanics, Zeekerss noted: "There should be clearer ways to learn enemy behaviors, though I expect this is already planned."

Currently exclusive to PC, REPO has rapidly climbed Steam's charts - reaching #2 in sales behind Counter-Strike 2 and peaking at over 230,000 concurrent players. For ongoing updates about this breakout horror hit, stay tuned to our coverage.
